Trini Style Wings

A Trinidadian twist on a classic wing recipe. Every Super Bowl this is a must. The sweet, salty and spicy combination is perfect.

Trini Pepper Sauce adds a unique twist to the wing sauce, providing a bit of spice mostly masked by the sweeter flavors. The peppers used in Trini Pepper Sauce are ranked high on the Scoville scale so be careful with the amount used.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tsp coarse salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp Trini Pepper Sauce

Directions

  1. Start with seasoning the chicken wings with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Place the chicken on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake the wings in the oven for 40 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through cooking.
  2. In a saucepan combine the ginger powder, butter, honey, Trini Pepper Sauce, apple cider, and soy sauce. Mix well and bring to a boil.
  3. After the wings are done, place them in the saucepan to coat them with the sauce.

Hey John! You should use 1 teaspoon of cider and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce.

I’ll definitely try it and let you know what I think. If it has Trini in it I’m sure it will be delicious. Thank you.
